It's official! We have 'Made in Britain' status
Glampsan’s parent company Plastic Solutions has achieved ‘Made in Britain’ status, proving their commitment to the manufacture and supply of original British products. It’s been an involved and (rightly) rigorous process, which included providing evidence in the form of videos, photographs and statements to prove unequivocally that our products are made right here in Britain.
The ‘Made in Britain’ mark is recognised as the ultimate stamp of British provenance and is seen as a seal of excellence domestically and worldwide. Applying for ‘Made in Britain’ was first suggested by General Manager, Jon Trelfa. Inspired by the commonly asked question: ‘where is this product from?’, Jon felt that Glampsan and Plastic Solutions should be confirming that we produce locally - and celebrate our British designed and manufactured status.
Despite receiving upwards of ten emails a week from companies offering to make our production tooling and produce our products overseas, we’re committed to the short lead times, quality and assurance that comes with producing in the UK. In fact, although we can’t quite source everything that our customers require in the UK, in 2023 86% of our sales were UK-manufactured goods.
Our first ‘Made in Britain’ product, the Flat Tank, was created by the company back in 2010. The tank provides the means to capture and store toilet, shower and sink waste at off-grid sites ready for safe disposal. The Flat Tank was followed by the Mini Flat Tank, and the 100-gallon water butt, with the product range continuously being added to.
What does achieving the ‘Made in Britain’ status mean?
· It proves a company's commitment to manufacturing in Britain.
· It’s a symbol of high quality, value for money British products.
· 100% of the labour to make the finished products took place in Britain.
· It helps consumers to identify products made in Britain
· The mark offers a level of transparency around business practices and responsibilities.

The process of gaining this prestigious mark involved providing evidence from our UK-based offices and production factories. We provided evidence that the Plastic Solutions and Glampsan offices, and our factories, are based in the UK, and that we own the tooling, design and intellectual rights to the products. Other evidence included photographs of Jon standing outside our premises holding a 3-pin electrical plug.
The task to gain the status was taken on by Sales Manager, Stu Hoddinott, who saw the process through from start to finish ensuing the vital boxes were ticked, ‘t’s were crossed, and ‘i’s were dotted.
General Manager Jon Trelfa commented. ‘We’re really proud to be joining the ‘Made in Britain’ network. By gaining this prestigious mark we are recognising the excellence of British made goods, and our commitment to quality and consistent production of our sanitation products in the UK’.
The Plastic Solutions and Glampsan Group is proud to add the ‘Made in Britain’ logo to its product range and joins over 2,000 other business who have attained the status.
