Celebrating 10 years with Glampsan
General Manager Jon is celebrating his 10-year anniversary at The Glampsan / Plastic Solutions Group.
Jon took up the challenge of “driving” the Glampsan / Plastic Solutions Group in March 2014 and now reflects on over 30 years in the portable sanitation industry. A “rustily” fluent German speaker, Jon is well-known in the industry across the UK and Europe, spending time as Managing Director Europe for both a toilet manufacturing company (1991-2008) and a manufacturer of ground and surface water monitoring equipment (2011-2014).
During this time, Jon sold over 25,000 portable toilets (impressive, right?). This included selling D-tox, our sister company, their first fleet of toilets. Fast forward a few years and Jon became General Manager of The Glampsan / Plastic Solutions Group. With his strong background in customer service, product development, marketing and sales, Jon has grown the Glampsan / Plastic Solutions Group from a company offering just three products when he started, to one with well over one thousand: with two divisions, two websites, and two web shops.
After 10 years at The Glampsan / Plastic Solutions Group and over 30 years in the sanitation industry, Jon is well-equipped to help anyone with questions, not only about our product range, but also on many aspects of the sanitation business in general. Jon is committed to customer service: if he can help, he will!
When asked what he most enjoys about his work, Jon replied:
‘I love the variety in my job and no one day is the same. I’ve enjoyed growing the business, product range, and expanding the team: mentoring individuals and watching them develop and become experts at what they do. I like to be at the coal face with the team and particularly enjoy being involved with the marketing aspects of the business, coming up with products and ideas, and finding new ways to help and communicate with customers.’

In his spare time, Jon likes to get into the countryside whenever he can. As a keen bird watcher and walker, you’ll often find him in the Peak District with his family or at home working in the garden. When it rains (so, most weekends in the UK) Jon enjoys watching sports and is a long-time fan of Formula 1 and rugby.
When back in the office, Jon sets the company strategy and offers technical support and advice, whilst mentoring and guiding the sales and marketing teams. He also ensures the office is a happy work environment and keeps the team entertained with his (many) jokes.
